Yes, you read that right. The all-powerful yet elegant COSRX Snail Mucin Essence is a miracle worker. Snail mucin has been around in the K-beauty industry for a long time now.
And we need to catch up to them now because the hype is real! Today we are reviewing the COSRX Snail Mucin Power Essence.
I must admit that it has become my holy grail in only a few short months. (It can become yours too if you give it a try).
Okay, let’s start with the rating and we’ll talk about everything; the texture, how it pairs with other products, the pricing, the packaging, the ingredients and what I thought about them.

COSRX Snail Mucin Essence
Rating:
5/5. That’s rare but I assure you this product deserves each and every star it gets. The official COSRX website has over 1200 five-star reviews for this product. That’s a lot!
Price:
Under $25 for 100mL, I would say it is seriously underpriced for what it does for the skin! Rest assured the bottle will last you for a decent amount of time.
Packaging:
The pump bottle is okay-ish. The issue only arises when you reach the end of the bottle. The essence is not watery enough for you to pump the last drop or the last quite a few drops. I don’t like to waste skincare, especially such a star product. So, just pop the bottle over on its head and let gravity assist you.

Texture:
I have 3 words for this essence.
Light weight
Fast-absorbing
Hydrating
It pairs extremely well with other products. Being so lightweight, it sits so well under any sunscreen, liquid, gel, stick, spray, or powder. I’ve tried them all. The best thing is I use it to prep my skin before makeup and it has never interfered with any product. Nonetheless, I wear light makeup and that too occasionally. Therefore, if you are accustomed to wearing heavy makeup, then I suggest trying the essence beforehand. Not everybody likes the glowy makeup vibe.
During my nighttime skincare routine, I have paired it with an exfoliant, and retinol (on different nights) and it works like a dream. You can check out my full skincare routine here.
COSRX Snail Mucin Essence Ingredients:
The star ingredients are 96.3% snail secretion filtrate and sodium hyaluronate. Mucins are glycosylated proteins produced by animals for diverse functions like hydration, adhesion, lubrication, etc. The snail secretion filtrate has numerous proven skin benefits.
The snail filtrate commercially available in skincare products is usually derived from brown garden snails and African giant land snails. It contains glycolic acid which helps with fading dark spots, improves skin texture, boosts collagen production and aids in hydrating the skin. A.K.A. hydrated plump skin, less fine lines and wrinkles.
Snail mucin has glycosaminoglycans that have significant antioxidant properties. In some studies, snail mucin has also been shown to confer regenerative and wound-healing properties.
Allantoin is another compound that is found in snail mucin. This prevents skin irritation and soothes the skin. Not only that but it was also found that allantoin was hydrating and helped in the formation of new cells.
Final thoughts:
If you want skin that is hydrated, feels moisturized and looks radiant, do not sleep on this COSRX Snail Mucin Essence!
I’m on the third bottle myself and it has become a staple in my regime. It’s just that good.
If you still don’t want to take my word for it, go try it out yourself, it comes in a mini size too. Then come back here and tell me how did you like it?
